John Broadhurst is an artist producing vibrant paintings influenced by the flora and fauna of the natural world.
John Broadhurst was born in Kidsgrove, near Stoke-on-Trent in 1950 and he still lives and paints in North Staffordshire. His passion for art led him to complete a Fine Art degree at Manchester Polytechnic before teaching the subject to children and adults.
The natural world and his enthusiasm for flora, fauna and wildlife provides much of the inspiration for his paintings, where landscapes, gardens and wildlife all feature.
John has exhibited regionally and nationally, including The Society of Wildlife Artists, the RSPB, Moorlands Arts Centre in Leek, Staffordshire, The Stoke Open Art Exhibition, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Open Exhibition, The Three Counties Art Exhibition at Keele University and numerous joint exhibitions.
His work has appeared in book illustrations, limited edition prints and greetings cards.
Many original paintings are also in private collections in the UK, USA, Canada, France, Spain, Norway and Sweden. Five artworks are in the collection of the Sultan of Oman.
He is currently currently working on a series of paintings based upon gardens, flowerbeds, borders and ponds.
